For several days, i have been thinking of writing again. To document what is happening not just with me, but all around.
Things have been crazy since 2020 started. A LOT of crazy things…
January started with me and Bernard breaking up after more than seven (7) years of relationship. My heart was so broken, i didn’t know if i could cope. But I did. Just after a month, i was already feeling better. I still feel lonely, but the pain is almost gone.
February, my birthmonth, it was so sad because i felt so lonely. Although we were already talking…. But, of course, as usual, i have to be strong and move on with my life. I am now forty-eight (48)!!! 😍
Now, March came… And all hell broke loose because of what they initially called the Corona virus (now Covid-19). It started in Wuhan, China… And because people love to travel, it’s now almost all over the world!
The Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte or who we fondly call Digong declared a lockdown starting March 15 for 30 days. Then Local Government Units (LGU) followed suit. Even the smallest unit of a village, like ours here at Liora Homes, they imposed a total lockdown. They just issued a Quarantine Pass to one person per household, so people can go out and buy their basic necessities like food ans medicines.
The President did not call it a Lockdown, but rather a Quarantine. So we are now under a Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ).
It’s really very sad that this is happening. But we have to do with what we have. We have to abide by the rules to be able to live in the future.
Wuhan and Japan are now declared Covid Free.
A lot of people lost their job. A lot stopped. Good thing the electric, internet and other loans (banks), etc. extended their kindness in different ways. But still, a lot of small income earners are suffering. The jeepney, bus and tricycle drivers. The factory and construction workers. The street vendors who depends on the people commuting everyday. To name a few..
I am so blessed that my US Client is still ongoing. And i am praying fervently that they won’t cut my working hours. 🙏 And of course, that soon, everything will be back to normal.
I pray to Papa God to protect my children, especially Leanne who is a Nurse in UK. They are also in lockdown now, just two days ago when they realized that they are not immune to this pandemic.
I pray for protection for my grandchildren too who are now staying with their Mommy.
I pray for my friends and other family.
I pray the people afflicted with Covid-19.
I pray for the frontliners, the people who risk their lives to help other people and the government at this time of trouble.
I pray that all these will be over soon. And that the people will learn from this experience, and find God along rje way.
