Yesterday was still our rest day—
Our usual workdays run from Tuesday to Saturday, so we make sure to take Sundays and Mondays to slow down and enjoy life (sometimes, we even start our weekend on Saturday afternoons 😆).
Most of the time, our rest days mean eating out, going to the mall, getting a massage, shopping, or just making tambay—simple joys that help us recharge. But since February 20, something new has been added to the mix.
Meet Brando, our Yamaha XSR 155. 🏍️

Balancing Work and Play
Running SolidGround Accounting & Bookkeeping Services (SGABS) keeps us busy and focused during the workweek. As a freelance bookkeeper, our days are filled with managing financials, training team members, and ensuring our clients get the best service possible. Lately, we’ve been working on a new project from our first UAE-based client and training our interns to take on more responsibilities. There’s always something happening, and while work is fulfilling, it can also be demanding and mentally draining.
That’s why we value our rest days so much—they give us the energy to tackle the workweek head-on. And now, with Brando, we’ve found a new way to unwind and refresh our minds.
Brando and Our Weeknight Rides
Since we got Brando, we’ve started going out on weeknights, just taking short rides nearby, grabbing coffee, and enjoying the night air. There’s something so refreshing about it—just hopping on the bike, exploring the roads, and stopping for food or coffee along the way.
But yesterday was different. It was Monday, still part of our rest days, and we decided to go a little farther. For the first time, we rode to Tagaytay! 🌄
Tagaytay and Tom N Toms Coffee ☕🥯
Our first stop? Tom N Toms, our favorite coffee shop. We love their coffee (always a hit) and their Bagel with Dark Choco filling—pure heaven in every bite! After soaking in the cool Tagaytay breeze and enjoying our coffee, we had dinner before heading back home.
It was a simple yet memorable experience, but what struck me the most was something I never thought I’d say…
Riding at 53? Who Would Have Thought?!
If you had asked me years ago whether I’d enjoy riding on a motorcycle at 53, I would have laughed and said, “No way!” 🤣
I used to ride a scooter when I was younger, and I absolutely loved it. But back then, I never imagined myself still hopping on a bike and cruising around at this age.
And yet… here I am. Loving every second of it.
Now, I feel like one of those carefree girls who just hops on the back of her boyfriend’s bike, holds on tight, and goes wherever the road takes them. 🏍️💨💖
Life is full of surprises, and sometimes, the best ones come when you least expect them. Who knows where our next ride will take us?
